Retrieve columns from other table without using INNER JOIN!

Hi,

Here, I'm going to tell you how to retrieve the columns from multiple tables in a single SELECT query. Can't you understand properly? OK. I'll brief you here. I've created two tables. They are, TABLE1 and TABLE2 . Each has two columns. Usually what we will do to select these two tables columns? We'll use INNER JOIN over here.

You can achieve this without using INNER JOINs. Look at this figure!

This article will give you the knowledge about the LinQ which stands for Language Integrated Queries . LinQ is one of the new features of .Net 3.5. It offers some operators which help us to write SQL queries in C# syntax. Now I'll show you with a simple example.

In order to build a query in LinQ, we must use var keyword which is an enumerable type. It holds the output returned by Linq statement. Have a look at this.

Here, nameList is an enum type which accepts the name list from the ListOfNames collection. It may be an ArrayList or a List<String> or any kind of Collection.

Hi,

In this article, I'm going to tell you how to generate a select query with where clause and filtering from the array using LinQ. Usually in SQL, we have to write like this.

select name from names where name like 'A%'

This will produce the names whose name start with the character of 'A'. Similarly, we can perform such a way using LinQ. Look at this pictorial sample.

Here, the query returns Monday because, I've used dy.Last() method which returns the last string from the sorted list. You can also retrieve the first occurrence of the string from the arrays using dy.First() .

The reason for using ImageButton is, we've an ImageButton and the HiddenField control in the same row (i.e. ). If the ImageButton is clicked during the run time, that will be considered as a command source.

We can also have different controls in the same row such as Button, LinkButton and so forth. In this case, we need to validate command source that is, who is called the event like Button, LinkButton or an ImageButton. The code like this.

This article gives you the practical experience to create ODBC data source. In the first step, we need to have a database.So, just assume that we’ve created a database called My Database. In that, there is a table, named as Products.

To register our database, open Control Panel from your computer by going to the Windows START menu. In the Control Panel, double click on the Administrative Tools, then select Data Sources (ODBC) from the list. Here, you'll get a dialog box.

This will show you all the data sources that have been registered. You’ve the possibility of registering a database as a User DSN accessible only to you, as a System DSN accessible to all users on the machine, or as a File DSN that will be available generally, possibly over a network. I’ll describe how you register the database as a User DSN.

From the dialog box, you then click the Add button. Now the create new data source dialog appears on the screen. Here, you can select from the list of ODBC drivers the one that you’re going to use. For our assumption, I choose the Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb) (or if you’re using SQL Server, the driver for that). This should have been installed automatically with the typical setup when you installed windows XP or Windows Vista.

If you don’t see the driver you want, you need to go back to windows setup to install it. When you’ve selected the driver, click on the Finish button. Now you can have a new dialog which asks you to enter the data source name and the database name which is typically My Database.

To select the database, you should now click the Select button to go to the final dialog box, which is the Select database dialog. In that, you can select the file in whichever directory it now sits. Once you’re completed, you need to click three successive OK buttons, and you’ve registered the database. If this is not the same on your PC you’ll need to resort to HELP for your operating system, or just experiment with the ODBC option on the Control Panel. The truth is in there.

Microsoft Visual C++ 1.0:

This version is the first version which was released in the year of 1992. And also, it supports MFC 2.0 which stands for Microsoft Foundation Class.

Microsoft Visual C++ 1.5:

This version is an enhancement of the previous version with the features of MFC 2.5, added OLE 2.0 and ODBC support to MFC.

Microsoft Visual C++ 1.52c:

This version is a patched version of 1.5, but it deserves its own entry since it is the last. It is also helped to develop the platform for Microsoft Windows 3.x.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2.0:

In this version, you can use the MFC 3.0, was the first version to be 32-bit only.

Microsoft Visual C++ 4.0:

It is improved with Microsoft Foundation Class 4.0, and it was designed for Windows 95 and Windows NT respectively.

Microsoft Visual C++ 5.0:

This version is included MFC 4.21 which was the big enhancement than the previous version.

Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0:

Visual C++ 6.0 is usually called as VC6. And it supports MFC 6.0 which was introduced in the year of 1998.

Microsoft Visual C++ .NET 2002:

It is alternatively called as Visual C++ 7.0. It is included an important feature is known as MFC 7.0, and it was introduced in 2002. It helps us to link time code generation and debugging run time checks, .NET 1.0 and Visual C# often pronounced as Visual C sharp & Managed C++.

Microsoft Visual C++.NET 2003:

It is also called as Visual C++ 7.1. This version has the enhancements, namely, MFC 7.1, it was released in the year of 2003 along with the .NET 1.1 version which was a huge updation to Visual C++.NET 2002. So, it was considered a patch version.

It is also called as Visual C++ 9.0 which was introduced in November 2007. This version also supports .NET 3.5, and it is unveiled in the industry. This version is the latest and stable until new one comes.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010:

This is going to be released soon. And we can expect this in the period of 2009-2010. The version name Visual C++ 10.0. At present, the development is going on.
